I'm waiting for my laundry to be done, so I figured I might as well update y'all while I wait.
Right now, Ben is finding me a husband online. His first suggestion is Abu Hamstra, a Muslim radical with a hook for a hand. I'm not impressed.
This week has been sortof weird. I've had some long-diastance problems to sort out, which have SUCKED, but at the same time, life here has been amazing. Maya and I chopped down a huge birch tree (this time with Oberon) which, in it's descent, knocked over three or four other trees. It was so loud and caused such massive destruction. It was awesome.
Today we put on a Winter Carnival for the locals, and tonight Tobold is throwing a dance party (very un-farmlike, n'est-ce pas?). Each dorm is going as a theme; Miles is going as fairies. I made EXCESSIVELY pretty wings out of cardboard for the occassion.
I sang in front of the entire school on Thursday night. Every day someone signs up to run morning meeting and to give a "humble" (sort of like saying grace) before dinner that night. So, I signed up, gave a little shpiel on THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS in the morning, and sang a song my mom wrote at night. I don't think I've ever sung without anything else in front of so manty people ever before. It was really fun and scary at the same time; overall I'm glad I did it.
In Science class this week, we made snow huts. We piled up snow one day, let it harden overnight, and then escavated out huts the next day. It didn't work quite as well as we'd hoped; the snow was hard to begin with, and even under the ice layer it was slow going, but Marc and I managed to make ours big enough that we could both fit inside. Pretty exciting.
I bet my laundry is done now. Peace out!
